Voltaire and Club ? Sunday Oct. 25, 2009

So Voltaire played Club last night. Supported by Hellblinki. Together those two bands created an atmosphere not usually seen in that place. it was warmer, cheerier, and yet spookier. It was kinda like a feel I get when I watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. Happy to be dark. Y'know?

DJ Censored and I layed tracks in between and after the bands, which, well Censored is a beat-matching juggernaut and I can't even hope to match, so, I guess I rely on song selection, but I like so, piss off, y'know?

Voltaire played solo, his voice and an acoustic guitar for a few songs, before being joined by members of Hellblinki. I need to mention the female vocalist for Hellblinki last night, and i swear to balls I don't know her name, has an amazing voice, such that I was actually overheard commenting on it. ( and that actually does mean something) As it happens, the set ran down and Voltaire left the stage. As the DJ, I asked if he was doing an encore so I could know to start music or not. He said no. And then the audience started the most amazing ruckus that he couldn't ignore and went back on for two more songs! What a fucking awesome audience Milwaukee has! The final song of the night, so brilliant, Late Night Double Feature Picture Show, from Rocky Horror! Word.

So it seemed that we all had some fun, some drinks, some more than few drinks, and some times with those not seen often enough. Milwaukee, keep doin it! There are always more shows!

out.

'tsup world

This is the first post on the first non-social networking blog for me. I'm keeping up with the times, yo!

I''m DJ Ninna and you can find me on the air Thursday nights at midnight on 91.7 WMSE spinning industrial and goth and coldwave and other crunchy, swoony, spooky and dark music for all your midnight excursions to cemeteries and bars and moonlit lanes overhung with Spanish moss and whatnot.

I'll throwin' up playlists and commentary and concert info here and you should keep comin' back cuz the more info I put out and the more people see it the more we can keep Industrial in Milwaukee. Lemme tell ya, it's gettin' tense here. Our scene kinda actually sucks, hate to say it. But it could be great, couldn't it? Yeah, it could. So come out come out wherever you are and show your face. We'll be lookin for ya's!

I hate it here
